Our Early Childhood Education Program includes:

• Letter Recognition

• Letter Sounds

• Number Recognition

• Counting(one-to-one correspondence)

• Shapes

• Colors

• Sorting

• Early Writing: using proper pincer grip, tracing, writing center, etc.

• Fine motor skills: scissors, writing utensils, tweezers, zipping/unzipping, buttoning, bead threading, etc.

• Gross motor skills: running, jumping, dancing, hopping, throwing, catching kicking, etc.

• Following 1 and 2 step directions.

• Social Skills: communicating, sharing, playing, etc.

• Reading: letter sounds, sight words, cvc words, stage 1 & 2 beginning reader books.

• Math: simple addition, more than/less than, coin recognition/value/counting, counting by 1’s, 5’s and 10’s up to 100, writing numbers 1-100,etc.

• Recognizing and Writing our names, addresses, and phone numbers.

  Please know all children will move at a pace that is comfortable for them, our main objective is to introduce all the above but not necessarily master them all. Each child will set their own pace so as to always be slightly challenged but never frustrated. Our environment is one where learning is fun and children can be proud of themselves.

Little Summit is certified and licensed through the state of New York. All staff members are CPR and first-aid certified. In addition, all staff members are required to obtain a minimal of 15 hours of continued childcare education training every year.
